More yoga is the answer…

YTP: What is the biggest mistake students make when it comes to selecting or preparing for yoga teacher training?

Amy: The biggest mistake is taking a teacher training because you’re motivated to get a certificate or a credential. Take teacher training because you want to study, learn, be a student and ultimately help others as an informed, knowledgeable, and wise educator. All of the above takes time and perseverance. There is no instant gratification when it comes to becoming a yoga teacher!

YTP: What is the most common concern you hear from potential students and how do you address it?

Amy: Either I am too tight for yoga or I’m too injured to practice yoga. I address it by suggesting that they try yoga to see if it will help address their stiffness and help their injuries get better!

YTP: What is your one hope for each and every graduate of your yoga teacher training program?

Amy: That teaching yoga is fulfilling, that they continue their practice of yoga (despite the demands of teaching), and that they prosper.

YTP: What inspired you to become a yoga teacher trainer?

Amy: My students!
